Overview

Less and less often are companies being evaluated and measured on the basis of hard financial indicators. While previously, somewhat secondary criteria focused on customers, employees, politicians and investors, it is predicted that a company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices will challenge managers even more intensively in the future than they do today. Standards and institutions like the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) are emerging in increasing numbers, with the capital market demanding more professional ESG communication from companies. Those who cannot coherently communicate their own positive contribution to the environment and society to customers and employees will come under increasing pressure and place the very existence of the company in danger.
